We are on the countdown until I retire and until we enter the MTC on September 9th.  We have been staying with Andy, Cretia, Dakota and Bodhi in Herriman at their house.  They have graciously let us stay in a bedroom in their house - and they have been wonderful hosts!  We are so grateful to them.  I am still working at BYU until August 31 - but try to just work short weeks.  They have replaced me and have another person starting August 12th and I don't want to be in the way.  We miss our house - but we are grateful to the people who are renting it and hope they enjoy it.

We have been enjoying walking around all the houses that are built up around Andy's house.  We walk up the very steep hill to the reservoir and then around the reservoir and back down to their house.  It is a fun walk.  There are lots of houses being built in that area - and they are expensive houses!  We found a lot that would be a perfect place to put a small cottage, but I am sure they don't want small cottages in that are.  However, the lot has the perfect view - as you can see all of SLC to the north and Mt. Timp to the southeast.  We call it our lot - but dad is afraid to ask how much the lot costs.  We are guessing about $200,000 just for the lot.  Next time we walk up there, I'll take my camera and take a picture of the view!

We have also had an opportunity to help watch the grandkids while their mothers go to  Young Women camp this week and that is always fun.  Eli's hair was so long because he just kept throwing a fit when Leslie would take him to get his haircut.  Finally one day last week she told Eli that he was starting to look like a girl - so he told his mother he was ready for the haircut.  She took him to Julie who cuts their hair and he got in the chair and Julie said - what are we doing Eli - and he said - just give me the cut!  So when we saw him this week and I told him how cute his haircut was, he said - I just got the cut!  The kids are so funny - always saying fun things.

Tomorrow we will have both Cami's kids and Leslie's kids at Cami's house while the dads work and the moms are at camp.  Next week we will make arrangements to take our Highlander in and have Jim look at it before we head to our mission.  It just turned over 200,000 miles and we need to get another 20 months out of it!

The Move

We know that we have 2 months before we go on our mission, but we were given great advice to do it now and not wait until August - and we are so glad we did!  The move was horrible....I took a week off from work to help pack it up and get everything ready and it took all week long.  Plus the temperature was hotter than it has every been in Utah.  We packed up all of the boxes and stored, but Kelsey and I couldn't move the furniture.  So, our grandboys - Dakota, Bodhi and Riley came to the rescue and were with us all day on Thursday putting the furniture in the storage unit.  We are so grateful to them.  Here is a picture of them having lunch at Purple Turtle trying to cool down:

Their parents said they could do it and they did!  All 3 of them are taller than their parents.  Then on Saturday, everyone came over and we divided up the food.  Here are the rest of the grandkids standing on our porch:
